Dilip founded SDB in 2000 as a steel trader. Over the years, under his leadership, the company has grown into one of the largest pipe stocking distributors in North America.

While running SDB, he has earned several awards including Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America (6x), finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year (3x), Houston Chronicle’s Largest Privately Held Companies in Houston, and Business Excellence Award from the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

Dilip is regularly interviewed and referenced for popular industry and business publications like Fastmarkets and Houston Business Journal, respectively. Dilip entered in the steel pipe industry over 30 years ago when he acquired an idled US Steel Pipe mill in Baytown, TX. Through the 90’s he managed the company as president and CEO before founding SDB. He moved to the US from his small hometown of Hisar, Harayana, in India to obtain his masters degree in 1973.

He earned his B.E. in Civil Engineer from Thapar (India) and his M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University. Prior to entering the pipe world, Dilip had served in several roles as an engineering consultant and worked for the US Department of Commerce. Dilip is an avid golfer and tries to get a round in whenever he can. In addition, you’ll often find him spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Narayan joined SDB in 2010 and is president of the company. Through his time at SDB, he has diversified the company into manufacturing and PVF. He even founded and sold an oilfield supply company in Mozambique, Africa. In addition to SDB, Narayan is very active in his community, having served on various boards including the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH), charities, his alma mater, and the Texas Workforce Commission.

He currently serves as Immediate Past President and Chairman of the National Association of Steel Pipe Distributors (NASPD), director for Magic Bus USA Charity (Houston Chapter), director of Inspire Institute of Sports (IIS) USA, and several leadership positions within the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Leading an active lifestyle, Narayan’s hobbies include weightlifting, squash, and rock climbing. He also enjoys nerding out on podcasts, world history, and craft beers. In his downtime, he enjoys catching up on TV shows and spending time with his family.

Narayan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received dual degrees in Finance and the esteemed Business Honors Program (BHP) from the McCombs School of Business. Hook ‘em!

CPA, CGMA – Chief Financial Officer

Wesley Joined SDB in 2017 as CFO of the Company. His responsibilities include financial strategy and operational implementation, assessment of organic and acquisition expansion opportunities, leading accounting, HR, and finance.

Over his 30+ year career, Wesley has developed and honed his skills in the operational accounting, corporate accounting, finance, and FP&A departments of several multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 companies or their trading subsidiaries to include Apache Corp., Entergy, and Columbia Energy. He has also served as CFO or Corporate Controller positions in private or private equity (Oaktree, SCF Partners) owned portfolio companies. In 2001, Wesley co-founded a small, successful oilfield services company that was eventually acquired by Key Energy Services.

Wesley has a bachelor’s in business (BBA) with an accounting concentration and a master’s in business (MBA) with a finance concentration – both from the University of Houston. He has been an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1995 and is a member of both the Texas Society of CPA’s and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He has a chartered global management accountant (CGMA) certification through the AICPA since 2012. He obtained a Six-Sigma Greenbelt Certification from Villanova University (non-active).

Wesley has been married for 30 years and has 4 adult children. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, camping, fishing, golfing, and hunting with his family.

Vice President & Director of Sales

Rajesh is Vice President and Director of Sales for SDB. He joined the company nearly 20 years ago as a trainee. Over the years, his roles have included purchasing, sales, and operations. Prior to SDB, Rajesh was working in IT at a firm in the Middle East.

Rajesh has a bachelors in business, an MBA in Finance, and MS in Computer Applications. When he’s not at work, Rajesh enjoys traveling, working out, and spending time with his wife and kids.

Subhash joined SDB in 2008 and manages technical sales for OCTG and line pipe. He has extensive knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and application of product. While he has spent most of his professional career at SDB, prior to joining he spent two years in product development as a Supply Chain Engineer in automobile manufacturing.

Subhash graduated in 2006 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family and playing tennis with his boys.

Mack serves as Director of PVF for SDB’s industrial division. He brings nearly 40 years of experience to the table. From his early days as a driver, Mack has worked his way up serving many roles in the industry, including warehouse manager, procurement, and inside sales.

He has supplied many notable projects in downstream, LNG, ethanol, and power. Mack counts many of his closest friends in the industry, which is one of his primary reasons for playing an active role in the PVF Roundtable for much of his career.

In addition to industry events, Mack enjoys playing poker, watching sports, and nailing strikes at the bowling alley.

Pranav leads all operations and activities of SDB Steel & Pipe Pvt. Ltd, a wholly subsidiary located in India. From this office, Pranav and his team manage vendor relations, quality control, estimates, and business development for the MENA regions, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Further, the India team provides support services to their US counterparts.

Prior to SDB, Pranav brings 18 years of managerial experience in manufacturing, operations, BD, SCM, and strategy. He holds a BSc in Management from the University of London and The London School of Economics.

In their free time, Pranav and his wife enjoy their pups and are active in animal rescue and pet adoption nonprofits. He is also WSET Level 2 in spirits and mixology (you can follow his Instagram page “OneGoodDrink.”

Philip serves as director of capital projects for SDB Steel and Pipe after having joined The SDB Group in 2021.

Philip brings 29 years’ experience of project execution, strategy, and operations to SDB having held various commercial and progressive leadership positions within the industry with oversight for sales operations in the upstream and downstream oil and gas markets as well as chemical and petrochemical industries. Philip’s broad project experience includes the execution of mega projects in the Americas, Middle East, South America, and East Asia.

Philip is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and in his spare time enjoys A&M football and is also an avid Formula 1, golf, and tennis fan.

Stainless & Nickel Alloys – Project Manager

Bryan brings 35 years of experience in the stainless steel and nickel alloys industry, demonstrating a deep commitment to quality and relationship-building. His career began with 20 years on the manufacturing side, focusing on seamless stainless steel and nickel alloys, followed by 15 years in trading. Over the decades, Bryan has maintained relationships with many of his original customers, who have since become trusted friends.

Outside of work, Bryan enjoys playing golf and spending time with his granddaughter, who keeps him on his toes and brings endless joy.
